Our partner is an international company with industrial automation as their main focus. Operating around the globe, they support clients with cutting-edge technologies and transformation solutions. 

As Service & Support Engineer, you are responsible for start-up, maintenance (including repair), modifications, enhancements, extensions, upgrades of equipment (hardware & software), within the agreed timeframe, requirements and performance.

Responsibilities 

  • Create functional (high level) concept of small to medium service projects, system changes, additions, extensions, etc. in line with client’s technical scope of work and ready for customer approval
  • Make detailed migration and installation plans
  • Modify and maintain existing system components and perform periodic checks locally and remote
  • Execute/lead testing duties such as internal testing, integration testing, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Support on-site activities during installation, System Start-up and commissioning
  • Create/Check documentation like FDS, installation manuals, backup procedures and troubleshooting procedures
  • Preventive maintenance activities
  • Call handling, investigate causes of malfunction, corrective maintenance in hardware and software
  • Standby support (24hrs/7days) for process control, safety, network security or SCADA systems
  • Maintain in-house test systems (hardware and software);
  • Basic design of Control System’s topology and network
  • Train technical employees, either internal employees or customers;
  • Technical sales support

Requirements

  • Technical education (at least Bachelor level), e.g. Information Technology, Electro technical Engineering, Process Automation etc.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of work experience as a Service & Support Engineer in the industrial sector
  • Customer-oriented, service-minded, accurate
  • Good command in English (speaking and writing skills)
  • Knowledge and experience in the following software/hardware: Operating Systems (Windows, Windows Server); Databases (Microsoft SQL server) and IT related knowledge
  • Able to analyze data and create reports
  • Knowledge of virtualization technology (Hyper-V and/or VMWare)
  • Flexible attitude and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working independently in project team or with customers
  • Pro-active working attitude and strong communication skills
  • Openness to travel
