Data Engineer

About the role: 

We’re looking for a highly motivated and skilled Software/Data Engineer to join our partner’s new engineering hub in Budapest. In this hybrid role, you’ll play an essential part in designing and building the company’s brand-new unified, cloud based data platform, a greenfield initiative with high impact.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, reporting solutions, and integration APIs within the company's new unified data platform. 

Tech Stack: Python, SQL, AWS/Azure/GCP, Snowflake, Airflow, Dagster, Redshift, BigQuery, Tableau, Power BI, Looker.

Your Impact in This Role:

• Develop and deploy high-performance, reliable, and scalable solutions within an agile framework.
• Enable internal and external users to harness the full value of the new data platform by providing timely, accurate, and actionable data.
• Partner with data analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements and build solutions that align with their needs.
• Adhere to and promote software engineering best practices such as version control, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and observability.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent professional experience 
• 3+ years of experience in a data engineer or similar software engineering role
• Proficiency in SQL and Python and scripting languages
• Pragmatic problem-solving skills
• Ability to tackle complex challenges while valuing simple, effective solutions
• Fast and enthusiastic learner, with a strong interest in both technical and business domains
• Skilled communicator, able to clearly convey ideas to both technical and non-technical audience
• Confident English language skills, both written and verbal

Huge plus:

• Knowledge of modern data orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster)
• Proven experience with a public cloud provider (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Experience in Data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
• Familiarity with modern BI tools like Tableau, Power BI or Looker
