Python Software Engineer - Portfolio Analytics

They are seeking an exceptionally talented individual to join their Portfolio and Treasury Services team which is responsible for portfolio analytics involving calculation of various portfolio performance measures such as P&L, Asset Valuations and Risk. They directly interact with Portfolio managers & Senior Management helping them to manage the firm’s trading book balances & optimize the cost of trading. Successful candidates will participate in all facets of a project’s life cycle from design, implementation, testing, documentation and deployment.

Responsibilities 

  • Design, code, and debug operations, reporting, pre & post trade analysis applications on Linux platforms.
  • Interface with users to gather, analyze and spec out requirements, develop/test code, and manage product deliverables to targeted release dates.
  • Work closely with the operations support team for deployment and training as well as provide support for new and legacy applications.
  • Its Impact: The candidate will be working on a technology platform that has a direct impact on the success of our firm.  As a key member of the team, the candidate will have the opportunity to offer new technology solutions to help improve our capabilities.

Requirements

  • Degree in a quantitative or technical discipline
  • Strong understanding and hardcore user of Python or other high level language like C# or Java
  • Experience or interest in building Web UI application with React and TypeScript
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced, agile environment
  • Ability to understand complex systems; be in command of the details to provide solutions
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational, columnar and alternative data stores
  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • Demonstrated ability to design and develop scalable software
  • Self-motivated and take initiative with minimal direction
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in Kubernetes, Kafka and Airflow a plus
